The Westerleigh Parks Coalition Corp (WPC) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization which operates as the maintenance and beautification arm under the aegis of NYC Parks. It was formed in 1997 as an offshoot of the now defunct Friends Of Westerleigh Park (FOWP)  when a need arose upon the NYC Parks completing the acquisition of Northerleigh Park. In 2024, The WPC formulated a Board of Directors and began identifying aspects of the two parcels that were in need of being addressed and enhanced for the betterment of the community.

 

The WPC has been focusing much of their energies in the past year at Northerleigh Park, clearing overgrowth and reclaiming the boundary lines of the full park. The WPC acquired and installed, through NYC Parks, new water fountains at both locations that are pet friendly and replaced the 50-year-old cement water fountains. This “300 Club” Limited Lottery will allow us to fast track the paving stone replacement around the bandshell, a project that when done through government budget structures will take almost TEN YEARS to complete!

The “300 Club” Limited Lottery has only one prize of $10,000 dollars and will sell only 300 tickets at the price of $100 dollars per ticket. The sale will be monitored via a dedicated page on our www.westerleighparkscoalition.com website and the drawing will be made on the main stage of The Westerleigh Folk Festival on September 19th, 2026. The winner need not be present, and more than one name can be placed on each ticket. Individuals directly or indirectly involved in the planning, operation, management or drawing of this raffle – including but not limited to The WPC Staff, Board Membership, Volunteers, and third-party vendors are strictly prohibited from purchasing tickets and winning the prize. Any tickets held by such will be considered void and any potential winnings forfeited.
